SPIRULINA PROTEIN BALLS
I have tried many recipes out there but a lot of them have too many dates or too much sweetener to cover up the taste of spirulina. I don't even think it's that bad, but I can understand if someone is sensitive to the taste. I geeet it!
First of all....WHY SPIRULINA?
Spirulina has been my all time favorite supplement.
It is a blue-green algae and it is among the world’s most popular supplements. Spirulina plays a key role in the overall health of an individual; here are 3 major benefits of why spirulina is essential for your well being:
1- It is rich in PROTEIN and many other Nutrients.
A single tablespoon of dried spirulina powder contains about 4 grams of protein. It also contains vitamin B1, B2, B3, Copper and Iron.
So it is a great source for protein for Vegans!
2- Improve Strength and Endurance.
Spirulina becomes an effective supplement for sport participant and athletes because it prevents hunger, reduce blood pressure and fatigue. It is an alkaline and this makes it effective in regulating the internal PH of athletes and sports participants for better performance
3-Powerful Antioxidant, Anti-inflammatory & Detoxifying Properties.
Spirulina contains chlorophyll which is used for “detoxification” by helping remove toxins such as heavy metals and other pollutants from the blood.
So ...Say YES to Sprirulina!!
Here is a very easy and simple way to introduce this power supplement into your everyday life.
100 gr cashews
1/2 cup (6o g) pumpkin seeds
1-2 tbsp of spirulina powder (or in my case I used tablets cause I was out)
2 tbsp coconut oil
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Put all the ingredients into a food processor until you have a smooth paste.
Roll the mix into balls. Store them in a airtight container in the fridge.
